Christina Cadorin is dedicated to fostering community engagement and empowering voices. My aim is to create a platform that promotes transparency and active participation in local community.

One of my greatest accomplishments was graduating with a Masters Degree in History from Wilfrid Laurier University.
I have worked in Business and Sales for over 15 years.
I am on the board of the Toronto Curling Association, and The Thornhill Historical Society.
I am an active member at The Thornhill Club, serving on both the Tennis and Curling Committees.
Bringing the community together is one of the core platforms I intend to run on. I believe that Ward One Thornhill Markham would greatly benefit from a community rejuvenation. With 13 different residents' associations in Ward One, some of which are active while others are less so, my aim is to connect all associations through open communication and transparency.
It is essential for our community to understand what is happening around them and to recognize who we are as a collective. By encouraging collaboration among residents' associations, we can create a stronger, more engaged community that works together for the benefit of everyone.
This week, I had the privilege of meeting the founder and executive director of High Notes Avante Productions Inc. Ingrid Taheri. High Notes Avante is a registered charity formed in 2014 and uses artistic expression to inspire, give hope, and connect individuals affected by mental illness through concerts, events, and various programs.
Since 2022, High Notes Avante Productions Inc. has shifted its focus to offering free and subsidized music lessons, aiming to promote better mental health within our community. It was truly inspiring to learn about their mission and the positive impact they are making!
Ingrid is just one of the many influential individuals in the Thornhill and Markham community who have dedicated themselves to making a difference. Highlighting the contributions of people like her is essential, and this recognition is what I intend to bring to the forefront once elected as Councillor of Ward 1, Thornhill Markham.

As I continue to go door to door on this journey, I have often been made aware that traffic and speeding are significant issues; not just in one association within our community, but across various parts of Thornhill. Action must be taken; traffic studies need to be conducted, and the community deserves to see improvements as we anticipate an influx of residents due to upcoming high rises and the new subway in the coming years.
One of the key platforms I am running on is ensuring that credible plans are established to address community concerns. It is crucial that the voices of residents are heard. There is a need for effective traffic control not only on major streets but also on side streets that are often overlooked.
Families, seniors and young children are significantly affected by speeding in our neighbourhoods, often caused by non-residents who cut through local streets to avoid traffic. This situation creates distress for those who live here. Immediate action is necessary, as the risk of accidents increases, putting residents, especially young children, at risk of serious injury or worse.
Thornhill needs a stronger voice on Markham Council, someone who will advocate for the community and take decisive action to control traffic. I will fight for comprehensive traffic control studies and analyses, as well as a reinforced police presence with speed traps in the most affected areas. I have personally witnessed cars running through residential stop signs, which are not optional and are often near schools. This issue must be addressed to ensure the safety of our residents, especially our children and seniors.
One of my key motivations for running for Ward 1 Councillor is to address the significant snowplowing issues affecting our streets. My parents live in Thornhill, and I often help them clear the heavy windrows left by snowplows, as they struggle to manage the snow on their own. I understand how challenging winter conditions can be for families in our community. It’s essential that we address these issues and implement proper monitoring to ensure residents don’t have to struggle to get their cars out of the driveway.
This past winter, I witnessed a mother with a baby carriage having to walk on the street because the sidewalks were not plowed in time. This situation highlights the urgent need for effective solutions. We must address these issues to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents during the winter months.
Many residents have shared their frustrations about inadequate snow plowing, particularly in cul-de-sacs. The plows are not only failing to clear the snow effectively, but they also leave residents to either re-plow the area themselves or shovel their way out. This situation is unacceptable, especially considering the potential emergency scenarios that could arise. Timely and effective snow removal is essential for the safety of all residents.
While these issues may not affect everyone, they significantly impact some residents and can be detrimental to their health and well-being. My intention is to listen to the concerns of the community, respond respectfully, and provide effective solutions that ensure everyone’s safety..
Over the years I have been fortunate to meet many people who care deeply about their communities, but every now and then you meet someone whose kindness, integrity and commitment truly stand out. Christina Cadorin is one of those people.
Christina leads with compassion. She listens before she speaks, genuinely wants to understand the people she serves, and approaches every conversation with respect and empathy. Those are qualities I believe are essential in public office.
Community leadership isn't about titles; it's about showing up, building relationships, working hard and always putting people first. From everything I have seen, Christina embodies those values. She is thoughtful, approachable, dedicated and committed to making Ward 1 an even stronger, more connected community.
As someone who has spent many years working alongside volunteers, community organizations and residents across York Region, I know how important it is to have elected representatives who are willing to collaborate, learn and lead with humility. I believe Christina will do exactly that.
If you live in Ward 1, I encourage you to take the time to meet Christina, hear her vision and consider supporting her. I have every confidence that she will serve her community with honesty, heart and dedication.
Wishing you the very best, Christina. Ward 1 would be fortunate to have you representing them.
From Shanta Sundarason
I am thrilled to endorse Christina Cadorin for Ward 1 Councillor. Thornhill is ready for change, and we need a councillor who listens to residents and puts people first. Christina does just that—she does not accept developer funds for her campaign, keeping her focus firmly on our community.
Christina brings a unique combination of business expertise, historical perspective, and the discipline of an elite athlete. She understands the importance of responsible economic decisions, respecting Thornhill’s roots, and planning thoughtfully for our future. Her strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills make her a dedicated advocate for residents of all ages and backgrounds.
Christina values volunteers, collaboration, and—most importantly—the voices of our residents. She has my full support and endorsement for Ward 1 Councillor.
